A wonderful article about Becky is in the new July 16th edition of Country Weekly Magazine.

There is a wonderful a public announcement sponsored by The Foundation For a Better Life that plays "ANGELS AMONG US!" People have seen in on network television & in movie theaters
The Foundation for a Better Life is a non-profit organization, started in 2000. It is privately funded and non-commercial. It's sole objective is to promote positive values, using print and broadcast media.
During shooting of "The Race," the young actors had fun with the working boxcar derby racers.
These cars were a delight for the art department to create.
Paired with Alabama's song "Angels Among Us," the spot teaches us that sometimes,
caught up in the heat of the moment, we may find the richest rewards in life
by just pausing and realizing something important may be happening right in front of us.

SONGS FROM THE ROAD OF LIFE
Artist: Becky Hobbs
It seems that some of the best country music is coming from independent labels, and Hobbs latest album is no exception. The title aptly describes the twelve songs on the album, all written or co-written by the artist who is among the best that Nashville has to offer. There is a bit of your favorite female country singer in her vocals, and she plays pretty mean keyboards as well! Produced by Duane Sciacqua for Beckaroo Records, the CD features a dedication to the great Johnny Cash with "another Man In Black" penned by Hobbs and Dene Anton. Look for it at record stores everywhere or go to www.beckyhobbs.com on the web.
Rating: Seven Stars ******* (out of seven)

Review SONGS FROM THE ROAD OF LIFE * * * * (out of 5)
"Part of the reason for her endurance and appeal is her ability to write good, simple songs with spot on hooks, and also her stage presence which includes her Jerry Lee Lewis pumping piano schtick."
"Bookending Songs From The Road Of Life are prime examples of Hobbs rattling the eighty-eights with absolute gusto, each song dealing with aspects of getting older and looking back."
"Songs From The Road Of Life has very much a home-made feel, produced by husband Duane Sciacqua – who lays down solid guitar lines throughout – at the couple’s domestic studio. For me, and no doubt others, Songs From The Road Of Life represents a very welcome return indeed."

A veteran of several major-label deals resurfaces with a solid album of self-penned tunes. As a singer, Hobbs relies more on charm than chops. Her gritty vocal approach is reminiscent of Skeeter Davis and is a welcome relief from the perfectly polished gymnastics favored by the Nashville establishment. She's at her best when she aims for the heart, as she does on ballads like ''Yesterday Tonight,'' ''Do It Right Now,'' and the lovely ''Pale Moon.'' And ''That's The Way I Feel About You'' is one of the best dang Motown songs ever to come out of Nashville.

Becky Hobbs (Beckaroo/Intersound)
Reviewd by Ralph Novak
Playful and appealingly varied, this album aptly demonstrates that Hobbs is a generally livelier and less stiff country singer than her fellow sooners Garth Brooks and Reba McEntire. She also fills her music with an earthy honesty. This album not only showcases her true, engergetic voice, it also displays her composing talents, which range from the kick-up-your-heels verve of "Rockin' and Rollin' and Raisin' Hell" and the cleverness of "Yellow Pages Under Blue" to the thoughtful philosophical ballad "Trust the Night" ("I would rather hurt from love than not know love at all"). Hobbs and producer-husband Duane Sciacqua also make good use of a talented bunch of studio musicians, especially accordion player Joey Miskulin, steel-guitar viruosos Sonny Garrish and Bruce Bounton and keyboard players Gry Smith and Jay Vern (complementing Hobb's own neobarrelhouse piano). They may have forgotten, though, that Hobbs is also effective as a duet singer and that she teamed with Moe Bandy in the 1980's on the hit single, "Let's Get Over Them Together." Still, it is good to see her finally find a place of her own in the spotlight
Bottom Line: Country music with brains and bounce.
Nashville outsider Becky Hobbs is one of country music's best-kept secrets.
